Healing Begins With People

Bringing Hope and Healing to Communities in Crisis

Mobilizing licensed counselors to support humanitarian workers facing burnout, empower local community leaders with mental health training, and provide immediate trauma-informed care to populations affected by natural disasters, political unrest, and humanitarian emergencies.

Our Focus

What We Do

1

Global Trauma Response & Crisis Intervention

We deliver immediate, trauma-informed care during global crises, including natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies. Our network of counselors mobilizes rapidly to high-stress environments to support victims facing unimaginable loss, while also providing critical relief to overwhelmed humanitarian workers facing burnout.

2

Counselor Mobilization & Supervision

Rooted in a Christian worldview, we connect and mobilize trained behavioral health professionals to serve global organizations in the most challenging locations. Supported by grants and donations, we subsidize deployment travel to regions like Thailand and Cambodia, and we provide essential supervision hours for counselors-in-training to fulfill their clinical requirements.

3

Community Capacity Building & Long-Term Resilience

We actively equip local community leaders and caregivers with practical mental health tools to foster sustainable, long-term resilience. Our specialized training empowers locals to provide ongoing emotional support, ensuring that essential healing continues long after the initial crisis has ended.

Who We Are

A Global Network of Healing

Global Healing Counselors (GHC) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit network of licensed professionals and counselors-in-training dedicated to bringing immediate, trauma-informed care to the global community. Rooted in a Christian worldview, we partner with diverse organizations to mobilize quickly in response to global crises—including natural disasters, war zones, refugee camps, and humanitarian emergencies. We stand in the gap in high-stress environments where mental health resources are severely limited, providing critical emotional support to victims while also caring for overwhelmed local teams and humanitarian workers facing severe burnout.

Beyond immediate crisis response, our goal is to equip local communities with the support they need to foster lasting resilience. We actively train local caregivers and community leaders with essential mental health tools to build long-term capacity. Furthermore, we invest in the next generation of caregivers by providing supervision services and training hours for counselors-in-training to help them fulfill their clinical program requirements.

Our Foundation

Purpose & Direction

Our Vision

Our Mission

Care Without Borders

To mobilize trained counselors globally to provide immediate trauma informed care, and equip local community caregivers with tools for long term resilience.

Counselor speaking with a client

Care that meets people where healing begins.

Every crisis leaves marks that go beyond what is visible. Our counselors are trained to walk alongside individuals and families as they process loss, grief, and the weight of what they have carried, offering a steady presence for the long road of recovery.

We believe healing is possible when trauma is met with skilled care and genuine relationship. That belief shapes every training, every deployment, and every conversation we hold with the caregivers we serve.

Yes, we do! A core part of our mission goes beyond immediate crisis response to focus on community capacity building. We offer specialized training to organizations and communities to ensure that healing continues long after the initial crisis has ended. Through our partnerships, we:

  • Equip local caregivers and community leaders with practical, trauma-informed mental health tools.
  • Provide ongoing emotional support training for populations recovering from political unrest, natural disasters, and global pandemics.
  • Build sustainable, long-term mental health capacity and resilience in communities where mental health resources are otherwise limited or non-existent.
GHC is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. We are funded entirely through grant writing and the generous support of individual donations. These vital funds are directly applied to our mission, allowing us to subsidize travel and lodging expenses for our deployment teams and sustain a network of behavioral health professionals who are ready to respond the moment global crises arise.

We are actively looking to connect with licensed counselors and counselors-in-training who share our Christian worldview and feel called to offer immediate trauma care in high-stress environments. By joining GHC, you become part of a reliable, ready-to-deploy network of professionals. Here is what volunteers can expect when partnering with us:

  • Subsidized Deployments: We utilize grant funding and donations to subsidize your travel and lodging expenses, enabling you to deploy to crisis zones, including upcoming planned trips to Thailand and Cambodia to support survivors of sex trafficking.
  • Clinical Supervision: We proudly invest in the next generation of caregivers. For counselors-in-training, we offer crucial supervision services and training hours to help you fulfill your clinical program requirements.
  • Global Impact: You will have the unique opportunity to expand your professional impact beyond borders, serving populations affected by war, natural disasters, and displacement.
